FU MANCHU Confirm New Record Deal, Prepare To Enter Studio
May 13, 2004As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first revealed on May 10, FU MANCHU have now confirmed that they have inked a deal with DRT Entertainment, the independent label founded last year by senior music industry executives Derek Shulman, Ron Urban and Ted Green. "We will be going into the studio on May 23rd," FU MANCHU guitarist/vocalist Scott Hill writes on the band's official web site. "We are looking at 12 songs making the final record. We are looking forward to getting the record out around September/October 2004, then hitting the road. We will be playing shows and doing some smaller tours before the new record comes out. Brian Joseph Dobbs will be producing and recording the new record. He mixed our 'Go For It...Live' record. More info soon.
"We have six songs in the new Jesse James' 'Motorcycle Mania 3' movie due out in June on the Discovery Channel," Hill continued. "A new song of ours, 'I'm Gettin Away' will be in the movie. They are looking to release a soundtrack for the movie. KID ROCK, C.O.C., TURBONEGRO, CYPRESS HILL and two FU MANCHU songs, 'I'm Getting Away' and 'Mongoose'. plus a few other bands. Our live performance should be shown on 'Monster Garage' in June as well. More info soon."
